Anna Verena Eireiner is a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Cambridge. In her research, she explores the governance of emerging technologies, DIY practices, and open science. She co-leads the Science and Technology Studies Research Cluster in the Department of Sociology. She holds a BA in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Konstanz and an MA in Science and Technology Studies from the Technical University of Munich.

Verena is a research assistant on the Citizen Sense and Citizen Data projects. She has prepared an overview of grassroots and community-led citizen sensing projects that utilize digital environmental monitoring technology in order to enable citizens to observe environments, collect data, and produce evidence. Verena also assists in the organization of workshops on citizen data and environmental sensing.
